WedNightFightClub: rode out with 22-30MPH headwinds. Had some mechanical issues (front brake out of alignment), got dropped by group. Fixed brake, hammered my ass off, caught up with and passed two people before the finish. Have consumed appropriate mass quantities, time for sleep.

Quick training camp recap
Drove down to Southern Illinois on Friday, did a ride from our cabin to/up Bald Knob, then back to the cabin.
Saturday was a bunch of hilly riding, some of the team did rides to/from Golconda, I ended up deciding to do a shorter ride.
Sunday we decided to leave early and drive back home, since only myself and one other person had any interest in riding in the rain. No rain when I got home, and...
You know what’s really good after a hard weekend of cycling? Truffle fries and wine

Q: Is it a good idea to lift weights in the morning if you have Wednesday night Hammerfest/Fight Club that evening?
A: No, you dolt. You'll get dropped like a bad habit at the first sprint.
The road to training camp - day 1
The original plan for yesterday was hill training with the team in the morning, then I planned on doing a second session on the trainer yesterday afternoon/evening. Very windy/gusty + intermittent precipitation when I woke up yesterday, and the hill training session had been canceled due to weather, so I did a ~1 hour hill session on the trainer, rested for a while, and did Revolver just before...

Lessons learned after the Sufferfest Triple:
Be prepared to be ravenously hungry all day the day after
Using the Triple as the capstone on a week of hard training = big, big ow. I’m fine as long as I don’t do anything using my quads. At all.
I really, really wish my hotel had a whirlpool.

Wednesday PM - First Wednesday Night Hammerfest of the year. Stayed with the pack for the majority of the ride. Never managed to do that last year.

First group ride of the year. Ended up doing 92 miles, >18mph average. Cracked at the end and fell off the back of the group, rested at home this afternoon. Shorter ride tomorrow.
Local training camp starts today for my racing team with a relatively easy pace century.

It’s currently 21F.
I have no cold tolerance.
