Did a walking workout for 25 minutes and felt good.
Ran 3.58 miles in 32 minutes and felt good. feeling good, 2 days until the Lakefront 50/50!
Swam 600 yards in 35 minutes and felt good. super easy pace backstroke, 24x25 yards.

The insideous thing about this is that it sneaks up on you - I did 8 repeats of this today before work, and didn’t feel too beat...
Ran 8 miles in 1 hour and 13 minutes and felt great. Did 8mi w/ 8x100m sprints. Details on blog later today

Did a weights workout for 41 minutes and felt good. great - new deadlift P/R!

Rode 11.53 miles in 50 minutes and felt alright. 15-20MPH headwind - ride was much more difficult than planned

This is the third year I’ve run Chicago. In 2006, I ran an 8-hour ultra in mid-August, did a 6-hour cycling time trial in early September, and then ran the Chicago Marathon in cold and rainy weather. Finished Chicago, set a new PR by roughly 13 minutes! Not bad for only 6 weeks of marathon training. Race report to follow tomorrow.

saw doctor for physical/back. physical good, back bad. have muscle relaxants, waiting until after work to start them.

Great video - some terrific footage of the McNaughton course from last year, when I dropped after 30 miles. I’ll be back next spring, and I’ll be doing 100 miles come hell or high water.
It’s not even noon, and I’ve already run a fairly hard 6-miler and made 3 books.
