Icing my knees seems to have helped a lot. Well, it’s been too long with no running-related injuries, so I’m home today icing my knee. grumble grumble grumble. Knee started hurting on Thursday, and hasn’t gotten much better since then. ow. I’m done with my first week of training for McNaughton. Today was a 14 mile run, which wouldn’t have been bad, except for the wind. 20MPH wind the entire time, gusting up to 30MPH, head and/or cross-winds the majority of time. Light calesthenics first thing this morning, smoothie for breakfast (orange, mango and blueberry with whey protein). Leftover sweet potato/tofu tagine with quinoa for lunch. Easy 5mi recovery run right after work (8:54/mi pace) - temperature in the mid-30s, 20-25MPH wind. Impromptu vegan bento for dinner.(click through for notes on dinner)

40:00 easy on the elliptical at the gym this morning. The gym is remarkably uncrowded when it’s 0F outside. 10:00 of ab/core work tonight, then vegan sweet potato/tofu tagine with fresh mint tea for dinner.

Up until about 0200 at the New Year’s Eve party. 3 mile recovery run before brunch, then relaxed most of the rest of the day.
